1,400 Seventh Graders Will Attend NASA Day In The Park October 19th and 20th

Fairmont, WV — On Tuesday October 19th and Wednesday the 20th, 2010, 1400 seventh-grade students representing approximately 10 school districts from throughout West Virginia will spend the day at the I-79 Technology Park Research Center learning about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers.  The annual Day in the Park event is sponsored by the NASA IV&V Facility, WV High Technology Foundation Consortium, the Mid Atlantic Aerospace Complex and the United Way of Marion County. In addition to a presentation by Astronaut Fred Gregory, the students and their teachers will experience exciting science and aeronautics presentations conducted by the Carnegie Science Center and the Seattle Museum of Flight.

9:00   a.m.        Carnegie Science Center

10:00 a.m.         Astronaut Fred Gregory

11:00 a.m.         Seattle Museum of Flight
