Sept. 18, 2013 — Antares is a two-stage launch vehicle designed to provide responsive, low-cost, and reliable access to space for medium-class payloads weighing about 11,000 pounds (5,000 kilograms). Initially developed to demonstrate commercial re-supply of the International Space Station under the NASA COTS Space Act Agreement, the Antares launch system also will support eight cargo delivery services to the space station under the Commercial Resupply Service contract.
