EPOXI/Deep Impact observed the comet 103P/Hartley 2 during a close flyby. Deep Impact observed Hartley 2’s size, shape, craters, and color variation for comparison to other comets to aid in Hartley 2’s classification. As a follow-on mission, EPOXI observed stars with known transiting gas planets.
