For decades, NASA has worked with the aviation community to develop technologies that help keep air transportation the safest way to travel, including de-icing systems, anonymous data collection to pinpoint potentially unsafe conditions, tools to detect wind shear and bad weather, and even runway grooves that help aircraft land safely on wet, icy or snowy runways.
