Manil Maskey (ST11/IMPACT) and the Chief Technologist for the Science Mission Directorate (SMD) gave a joint presentation at the NASA headquarters SMaC meeting. The presentation focused on AI/ML initiatives within SMD, highlighting the distinct roles and contributions of the Office of the SMD Chief Technologist and the Office of Chief Science Data Officer. The presentation included respective investments and the collaborative efforts in AI/ML. The SMaC, which includes leaders and managers from across SMD, attended this meeting. The insights shared are expected to shape the future application of AI in NASA’s scientific endeavors.
