From 3/18-21/24, Dan Irwin (ST11), SERVIR Global Program Manager and Jacob Abramowitz, Ecosystem & Carbon Management Science Associate of the SERVIR Science Coordination Office, Dr. Evan Notman of USAID, Paul Bartel and Kidia Gelaye from SERVIR-West Africa, and Nguyen Hanh Quyen and Ate Poortinga from SERVIR Southeast Asia — along with representatives of the World Resources Institute (WRI), the FAO, and Google — participated in the FDaP Annual Meeting at the FAO’s headquarters in Rome, Italy. On 3/21/24, International Day of Forests, Irwin also participating in a panel discussion on the future of forest monitoring, giving NASA’s perspectives on future monitoring capabilities and SERVIR’s relevance to this area.
